Making the transition from full time employment as an engineer in a large company, to an entrepreneur consultant can be a scary journey that can be fraught with potholes. This is probably not a path that everyone should pursue. The speaker will relay his experiences, make suggestions regarding the qualifications and qualities of people who might consider this kind of career change, identify some of the challenges and types/relative magnitudes of potential income streams available to an engineering consultant.

Alfred Gunther is an automotive engineer with over 40 years of experience. Al has four patents, with a potential fifth in process. Born, raised and schooled in New Jersey, all of Al’s parents and grandparents, along with most of his extended family, were entrepreneurs.
